St Mary's, Ashley

Ashley is a small picturesque and historical village its name means "˜clearing in the meadow'. It has had a church since the thirteenth century, and its present church dates from 1845. It is a Norman style cruciform building of flint with Bath stone dressings, with a chancel, nave and transepts and a turret with one bell. The benefactor of the church was the Marquis of Bute. But the church is not just historical It has a living congregation and we are always trying to make it accessible to everyone.

At the moment the church is open only on Sundays.  If you want to visit to enjoy the peace of this prayerful place, please contact the Revd Dr Naomi Wormell.<div>
